If you needed another reminder of why Americans have lost faith in the legacy media, look no further than Monday's embarrassing correction from a HuffPost White House correspondent.

S.V. Dáte, covering the White House pool, was forced to issue a late-night mea culpa after incorrectly reporting that President Trump had walked the famous White House Colonnade with advisor Natalie Harp. The problem? It wasn't the President at all—it was Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

Amateur Hour at HuffPost

"Pool was some distance away," Dáte admitted sheepishly in his correction, blaming a still photographer's image for finally revealing his blunder. "Apologies for the error."

Apologies? That's it? These are the same media outlets that spent years demanding "accountability" and lecturing Americans about "misinformation." Yet here we have a credentialed White House correspondent who can't even correctly identify the President of the United States from the Commerce Secretary.

Let that sink in, Patriots.

The Real Story Here

While the mainstream media continues to embarrass itself with basic reporting errors, the Trump administration is hard at work in the people's house. Commerce Secretary Lutnick—a sharp businessman tapped by President Trump to help restore American economic dominance—was apparently conducting business at the White House late into the evening.

That's the difference between the Trump team and the Biden regime that came before it. While Biden was calling lids before noon and hiding in his basement, this administration is burning the midnight oil to deliver results for the American people.

But don't expect HuffPost to report on that. They're too busy trying to figure out who they're actually looking at.

Is it any wonder that trust in mainstream media has cratered to historic lows? When reporters can't get the most basic facts right, why should Americans believe anything else they publish?

This is exactly why nobody trusts mainstream media anymore. How do you mistake the Commerce Secretary for the President? The bias is showing.

They're so consumed with Trump hatred they literally see him everywhere!

Wonder if this reporter will face any consequences or just get a slap on the wrist? In any other industry, this level of mistake would be career-ending.

How does someone whose job it is to report on politics not know what the Commerce Secretary looks like? This is beyond embarrassing - it's incompetence.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real and this proves it.

I work in journalism at a local paper and we would never let something this sloppy get published. These big outlets have no standards anymore.

Local papers still have integrity. It's the national ones that are completely partisan.

At least they issued a correction, but the damage is already done. How many people saw the original story vs the correction?
