President Donald Trump made his return to the White House Sunday evening aboard Marine One, landing on the South Lawn at 10:19 PM on what was described as a chilly, mostly clear night in the nation's capital.
A Dramatic Return
In classic Trump fashion, Marine One flew past the illuminated Washington Monument before touching down on the South Lawn. The President emerged from the helicopter three minutes after landing and made his way toward the South Portico entrance.
True to form, President Trump acknowledged the press pool with a wave – but he wasn't about to give the mainstream media the soundbites they were desperate for. Despite reporters shouting questions into the cold night air, the President kept moving, focused on the work ahead.
Commerce Secretary in Tow
Notably, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick accompanied the President back to the White House. The presence of Lutnick – the former Cantor Fitzgerald CEO who has been a key player in Trump's economic agenda – suggests important business discussions may have been taking place over the weekend.
This could signal major economic moves on the horizon as the Trump administration continues its America First policies.
While the mainstream media will no doubt spin this as Trump "dodging" questions, we know better. This President has never been afraid to speak his mind when he's ready. He simply doesn't operate on the press corps' schedule – he operates on America's schedule.
