Just as President Trump begins his second term with promises to end foreign wars and restore peace through strength, British Defence Secretary John Healey is making inflammatory statements about capturing Russian President Vladimir Putin and putting him on trial for war crimes – drawing immediate backlash from patriots who see this as exactly the kind of globalist warmongering Trump was elected to stop.
Healey's comments, which compare Putin to Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, have "ruffled the feathers of the Kremlin" according to reports, with the British official pointing to mass graves discovered in Bucha as justification for his aggressive stance. But Americans are asking: why is Britain trying to escalate tensions with a nuclear power just as Trump takes office?
"British Defence Secretary John Healey has ruffled the feathers of the Kremlin after saying that he would like to capture Russian leader Vladimir Putin and put him on trial for war crimes. Secretary Healey pointed to the mass graves discovered in Bucha following the Russian," posted @Patrici04211472 on social media.
The timing couldn't be worse. Trump campaigned on ending the endless wars and has repeatedly stated his ability to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours. Now British officials are essentially declaring their intent to arrest the leader of a nuclear superpower – the exact kind of reckless globalist posturing that got us into this mess in the first place.
Critics on social media are slamming Healey's approach. Martin Armstrong of Armstrong Economics didn't mince words: "Healey made the dumbest bullshit excuse I have ever heard in 50 years. How does an empty tanker on its way to Russia threaten Britain and the British people? This is the most absurd excuse I have ever heard."
Even British citizens are pushing back against their own government's warmongering. User @quorngeordie expressed concern about escalation: "Not in my name .. agree to have more defence capabilities there with Denmark to protect, not this that will threaten nato and send wrong signal to Russia."
This is exactly why America voted for Trump's America First agenda. While European politicians play dangerous games with nuclear powers, Trump understands that strength comes through smart negotiation, not reckless threats that could drag the world into World War III.
Will Trump be able to restore sanity to Western foreign policy before our "allies" start a war nobody wants?
