EXPOSED: Speed Limit SCAM Reveals How Government Creates Laws Everyone Ignores

Speed limits have become the perfect symbol of government dysfunction in America – a law that literally everyone breaks while bureaucrats pretend the system works.

Despite near-universal noncompliance on highways across the country, speed limits keep trending upward. Why? Because the entire system is built on a lie that disconnects government regulations from reality on the ground.

Every single day, millions of law-abiding Americans become "criminals" simply by driving the speed that feels safe and natural on well-designed highways. Meanwhile, traffic engineers know the truth: speed limits aren't set based on safety data, but on political considerations and revenue generation.

The Real Agenda Behind Speed Limits

Here's what the transportation establishment doesn't want you to know: the safest speed on most highways is actually higher than the posted limit. Traffic engineers use something called the "85th percentile rule" – the speed that 85% of drivers naturally choose when conditions are good.

But politicians ignore this data because speed limits serve two purposes that have nothing to do with safety: generating revenue through tickets and giving bureaucrats the illusion of control over citizen behavior.

"Speed limits aren't broken because speed itself is dangerous. They're broken because the system is disconnected from reality," according to transportation experts who actually study traffic flow.

This is exactly the kind of government overreach that drives hardworking Americans crazy. Unelected bureaucrats create arbitrary rules, then act shocked when citizens use common sense instead of blindly obeying.

Want safer roads? Stop treating drivers like children and start setting limits based on engineering reality, not political theater. The evidence shows that reasonable speed limits that match actual traffic patterns create safer highways than the current system of universal non-compliance.

It's time to admit that when everyone breaks a law, the law is the problem – not the people. How many more government regulations are built on the same foundation of lies and bureaucratic fantasy?

This is what happens when government gets too big and needs to fund itself. Speed traps are just legalized theft at this point.

Question - does anyone know what percentage of traffic violations actually result in accidents? I bet it's tiny compared to how much they collect in fines. Would love to see those numbers exposed too!

From what I've read it's less than 3% of speeding tickets that involve any actual safety issue. Most are just cash grabs.

FINALLY someone calls this out! I've been saying for years that speed limits are just revenue generators, not safety measures. Drive through any small town and watch how they drop from 55 to 25 in a quarter mile with a cop waiting right there.

Exactly! It's taxation through citation. They know everyone's going to go 5-10 over because the limits are artificially low.
