The Biden administration's weaponized federal agencies have struck again – this time killing off an iconic American robotics company and serving it up on a silver platter to Communist China. Thanks to Deep State antitrust regulators, iRobot, the Massachusetts-based maker of Roomba vacuum cleaners, was driven into bankruptcy last December after bureaucrats blocked Amazon's acquisition deal.
Here's the sick irony: These same regulators claimed they were "protecting competition" when they torpedoed the Amazon deal. Instead, they delivered a death blow to American innovation and handed another victory to our greatest economic rival.
iRobot was a true American success story – a pioneering company that revolutionized home robotics and employed thousands of hardworking Americans. When Amazon offered to acquire the company, it would have provided the resources needed to compete against brutal Chinese competition flooding the market with cheap knockoffs.
But the administrative state had other plans. Federal Trade Commission bureaucrats, drunk on their own power, decided they knew better than the free market. They blocked the deal, claiming it would somehow hurt consumers. The result? iRobot couldn't survive the competitive pressure and filed for bankruptcy, with Chinese creditors now circling like vultures.
Deep State Sabotages American Business
This is exactly the kind of regulatory overreach that President Trump has vowed to eliminate in his second term. While China plays to win, American companies get strangled by their own government's red tape and ideological crusades.
"Antitrust law is supposed to defend consumers and prevent monopoly abuse," one industry expert noted. "In this case, regulators killed a deal that could have kept iRobot alive, preserved American jobs, and strengthened a U.S. company facing brutal Chinese competition."
Instead of protecting American innovation, Biden's regulators became useful idiots for Communist China. They took a thriving American robotics pioneer and gift-wrapped it for Beijing – all while patting themselves on the back for "protecting competition."
How many more American companies will the Deep State sacrifice on the altar of woke capitalism before patriots say enough is enough?
