Renowned composer Philip Glass has thrown what can only be described as an elite liberal tantrum, abruptly canceling the world premiere of his "Lincoln" symphony at the Kennedy Center just as President Trump begins his second term.
Glass announced Tuesday he was pulling his Symphony No. 15 from the prestigious venue, claiming an "irreconcilable clash" between his artistic message and the institution's leadership direction. Translation: he can't handle the fact that America chose Trump again.
This is exactly the kind of elitist snobbery that everyday Americans are sick and tired of. Here's a composer who creates a work supposedly honoring Abraham Lincoln - the Republican president who saved the Union - but apparently can't stomach performing it while another Republican president works to save America from four years of Biden's disasters.
The Left's Cultural Meltdown Continues
Glass's melodramatic withdrawal is just the latest example of how unhinged the liberal establishment has become since Trump's triumphant return to the White House. These cultural gatekeepers simply cannot accept that the American people rejected their woke agenda and chose America First policies instead.
The irony is delicious: a composer celebrates Lincoln, the president who fought to preserve our republic, while simultaneously throwing a fit about another president working to restore American greatness. You can't make this stuff up, folks.
What "direct conflict of values" could Glass possibly be talking about? The Kennedy Center's commitment to serving all Americans instead of just coastal elites? The administration's focus on putting America and American artists first?
Patriots Don't Need Elite Approval
The truth is, this kind of cultural gatekeeping is exactly why Trump won. Americans are tired of being lectured by out-of-touch artists who think they're morally superior to the hardworking patriots who actually make this country run.
Glass can keep his symphony. Real Americans are too busy celebrating the return of common sense leadership to worry about what some liberal composer thinks about our democratically elected president.
Maybe it's time the Kennedy Center started featuring artists who actually love America and respect the will of the American people. What do you think, patriots?
