Just as President Trump is delivering on his promise to secure our borders and deport criminal aliens, a backstabbing RINO has emerged from the swamp to undermine America First policies. Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) is calling for Congress to create a "path to legal status" for illegal immigrants and wants ICE to "reassess their current tactics" following incidents in Minneapolis.
This is exactly the kind of establishment betrayal that Patriots voted to END in November. While Trump and his team work tirelessly to restore law and order to our immigration system, Lawler is parroting the same tired amnesty talking points we've heard from Democrats for decades.
The Swamp Strikes Back
Lawler's timing couldn't be worse – or more suspicious. As ICE begins the largest deportation operation in American history, this New York Republican chooses to stab the President in the back by demanding softer enforcement and rewarding lawbreakers with legal status.
"We need to reassess current tactics," Lawler wrote in his op-ed, essentially attacking the brave ICE agents who are finally doing their jobs after four years of Biden's open-border disasters.
This is the same weak-kneed approach that got us into this mess in the first place. For too long, Republicans like Lawler have caved to liberal pressure and mainstream media narratives instead of standing firm for American citizens.
America First Means AMERICANS First
Let's be crystal clear: there should be NO "path to legal status" for people who broke our laws to get here. Every illegal immigrant who gets amnesty takes a job, a house, and resources away from law-abiding American citizens.
President Trump won a mandate to secure our borders and deport those here illegally. That's exactly what he's doing, and RINOs like Mike Lawler need to get out of the way or get primaried.
