Mathieu Zahui, the Chief Financial Officer of the obscure African Development Foundation (ADF), made national headlines just weeks ago when he physically barricaded his agency's doors to prevent DOGE officials from conducting their government efficiency audit. The mainstream media celebrated him as a "resistance hero" standing up to the Trump administration's cost-cutting efforts.
Turns out, Zahui had very good reasons for not wanting anyone looking too closely at his books.
The African Development Foundation, a USAID-linked foreign aid agency that most Americans had never heard of before Zahui's theatrical door-locking stunt, has now become the poster child for everything wrong with the bloated federal bureaucracy.
