Democrat Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona made absolutely disgraceful comments on MSNBC Friday night, claiming that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is "going to go after all the brown people" under President Trump's immigration enforcement operations.
Speaking on "The Weeknight," Gallego revealed the left's true playbook: when they can't defend illegal immigration on the merits, they immediately play the race card and smear hardworking ICE agents as racists.
This is exactly the kind of inflammatory rhetoric that has poisoned our immigration debate for years. Gallego knows damn well that ICE doesn't target people based on skin color – they target people who are in this country illegally, period. But facts don't matter when you're desperately trying to protect a broken system that Democrats have exploited for political gain.
The Left's Desperation is Showing
What Gallego won't tell you is that ICE agents come from all backgrounds and ethnicities, including many Hispanic Americans who are proud to serve their country by enforcing our immigration laws. His comments are a slap in the face to every law enforcement officer working to secure our border.
This is the same tired playbook Democrats have used for decades: call anyone who supports border security a racist. It didn't work in 2024 when Trump won decisively with increased Hispanic support, and it won't work now.
"They're not going after criminals – they're going to go after all the brown people," Gallego claimed, without a shred of evidence.
The truth is that President Trump's immigration enforcement prioritizes criminals, gang members, and those who pose threats to public safety. But Democrats like Gallego would rather protect illegal aliens than protect American citizens and legal immigrants who are harmed by this lawlessness.
