Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey is having a complete meltdown as President Trump's ICE enforcement operations demolish what he pathetically calls his "sanctuary city economy" – and Patriots across America are celebrating this long-overdue reckoning.
The Democrat mayor is whining that Somali-owned businesses in his city have seen revenues plummet by more than 50% since ICE launched its "Metro Surge" operation. But here's what Frey won't tell you: this isn't about legitimate businesses suffering – it's about a corrupt system built on exploiting illegal labor finally getting exposed.
"I'm sitting at my desk here and just got some really sobering figures about the impact that this operation, [ICE's] Metro Surge, is having on our communities," Frey complained, as reported by legal scholar Jonathan Turley on social media. The same mayor who "encouraged protests against immigration enforcement" is now crying about the consequences of his own anti-American policies.
Social media users aren't buying Frey's sob story for one second. One Twitter user pointed out the mayor's glaring omission: "Nothing about fraud by Somalis" when discussing the business revenue crash. Another user was even more direct, noting that Frey mentioned "Not one word about rampant fraud, fake nonprofits, or city contracts hemorrhaging taxpayer cash."
"Enforcement isn't the problem. Corruption is. Why won't City Hall talk about that?" the user asked – a question every American taxpayer should be demanding answers to.
This is exactly what Trump's America First agenda was designed to fix. For years, sanctuary cities like Minneapolis have built their economies on the backs of illegal immigrants while legitimate American workers suffered. They've created shadow economies that operate outside the law, and now they're shocked – SHOCKED – that actual law enforcement is dismantling their corrupt system.
The real question isn't why businesses dependent on illegal labor are struggling – it's why mayors like Frey thought they could flout federal immigration law indefinitely without consequences. President Trump promised to end sanctuary city madness, and he's delivering on that promise in spectacular fashion.
How many more sanctuary city mayors will have to face this reality before they start putting American citizens first?
