Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has revealed the Democrats' true priorities by threatening a government shutdown to block Republican efforts to secure American elections and prevent noncitizens from voting.

In a stunning display of partisan extremism, the New York Democrat took to social media Monday to declare war on the SAVE Act, legislation designed to ensure only American citizens can participate in American elections. Schumer outrageously compared basic election security measures to "Jim Crow 2.0," claiming it would "disenfranchise millions of Americans."

Let's be crystal clear here, Patriots: The only people "disenfranchised" by requiring proof of citizenship to vote are those who aren't citizens in the first place. Why is Schumer so desperate to protect the voting rights of people who shouldn't be voting at all?

"The SAVE Act is nothing more than Jim Crow 2.0. It would disenfranchise millions of Americans. Every single Senate Democrat will vote against it," Schumer declared.

Americans across social media are seeing right through this shameless power grab. As one Twitter user put it: "The level of corruption from the dimocrats is beyond belief. Who, in their right mind, would want to be associated with these criminal lunatics?"

Another patriot asked the obvious question: "This is how desperate the Democrats are to block voter ID. Ask yourself why."

The answer is simple: Democrats know they can't win fair elections with American citizens alone. They need noncitizen votes to maintain their grip on power, and they're willing to shut down the entire federal government to protect their illegal voting pipeline.

President Trump and the Republican majority have a mandate from the American people to secure our elections. The SAVE Act is common sense legislation that every honest politician should support. The fact that "every single Senate Democrat" opposes it tells you everything you need to know about their commitment to election integrity.

This is the same Chuck Schumer who spent years screaming about "threats to democracy" while simultaneously fighting tooth and nail to keep noncitizens voting in American elections. The hypocrisy is breathtaking, but not surprising from the party that gave us the Russian collusion hoax and two bogus impeachments.

The American people deserve to know: Why are Democrats so terrified of proving you're a citizen before you vote?

I served 20 years in the military to protect our democracy, and this is what we get? Politicians more concerned about noncitizen votes than citizen voices.

This should be front page news everywhere! The American people deserve to know where their representatives stand on election security.

This is exactly why we need voter ID laws in every single state! Schumer would rather shut down the government than protect election integrity.

100% agree! It's common sense - you need ID for everything else, why not voting?

Schumer's priorities are crystal clear - and American citizens aren't at the top of the list.

Every other country requires proof of citizenship to vote. Why is asking for basic verification suddenly controversial here?

Because Democrats know they can't win fair elections. Simple as that.

Can someone explain why Democrats are so opposed to the SAVE Act? What's the actual argument against verifying citizenship?

Unbelievable. So protecting noncitizen voting is more important than keeping our government running?
