The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is proving once again that woke ideology trumps child safety in their radical organization. Despite mounting evidence and international medical consensus turning away from dangerous transgender procedures on minors, the AAP announced Wednesday they're sticking to their guns on so-called "gender-affirming care" for children.
This is the same organization that represents tens of thousands of pediatric professionals across America – the very doctors parents trust to protect their children's health and wellbeing. Instead, they're prioritizing Democrat talking points over medical science.
The timing couldn't be more telling. Just as President Trump's administration begins rolling back the Biden regime's destructive trans agenda in schools and federal agencies, the AAP decides to plant their flag firmly in radical territory. They're choosing politics over patients, and American children are paying the price.
Social media critics aren't buying the AAP's deflection tactics. Research fellow Leor Sapir called out their dishonest framing, posting: "Talk about a straw man from the AAP. Absolutely no one has ever accused them of making 'a blanket recommendation for surgery for minors.' I do recall, however, that the AAP successfully pressured WPATH to eliminate age minimums."
That's right – the AAP actually lobbied to REMOVE age restrictions on these life-altering procedures. Let that sink in.
Writer Ben Ryan highlighted the AAP's 2018 policy statement supporting "surgical approaches" for minors, including procedures to alter "chest, or genitalia." These aren't harmless treatments – we're talking about irreversible surgeries on children who can't even vote or get a tattoo.
"This is what the AAP's 2018 policy statement on the gender-affirming care method says about gender-transition surgeries for minors: 'Surgical Affirmation: Surgical approaches may be used to feminize or masculinize features, such as hair distribution, chest, or genitalia,'" Ryan posted on social media.
Meanwhile, European medical authorities are hitting the brakes on these experimental procedures after reviewing the actual evidence. But not the AAP – they're doubling down on ideology over science.
Patriots, this is exactly why we need President Trump's leadership to drain the swamp in every institution. The medical establishment has been captured by radical left ideology, and our children are suffering the consequences. When will American parents say enough is enough?
