A Democratic U.S. Senate candidate has sparked outrage after appearing on "The Joe Rogan Experience" and making what critics are calling blasphemous comments that twist Christian scripture to defend abortion rights.
James Talarico, running for Senate in Texas, used the biblical account of the Annunciation—where the angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will bear Jesus—to justify abortion by claiming God "asked for Mary's consent." The twisted interpretation has drawn fierce condemnation from Christian conservatives who say it represents a dangerous hijacking of the faith.
"I say all this in context of abortion because before God comes over Mary and we have the Incarnation, God asks for Mary's consent, which is remarkable," Talarico said during the podcast appearance. "I mean, go back and read this in Luke. I mean, the angel comes down and asks Mary if this is something she wants to do."
BlazeTV host Steve Deace didn't mince words in his response, calling out what he sees as a satanic distortion of scripture. The comments quickly gained traction on social media, with conservatives demanding that Christian voters hold candidates accountable for such statements.
"Democratic Senate candidate's 'satanic' use of scripture to defend abortion MUST be challenged," posted @tgradous on Twitter. "James Talarico's comments represent a dangerous hijacking of the Christian faith, and voters must demand candidates who will confront it."
Another user, @LurkingEye, shared the story calling Talarico's comments "blasphemous" and echoing calls for the candidate to be challenged on his scripture interpretation.
This isn't just theological hair-splitting—it's a calculated attempt to use Christianity as a weapon against Christian values. Talarico's argument fundamentally misrepresents the nature of Mary's response to God's plan, twisting a story of faith and obedience into a modern feminist talking point about "reproductive choice."
Patriots need to ask themselves: How long will we allow Democrats to weaponize our faith against us? When candidates like Talarico use sacred scripture to defend the killing of unborn children, it's time for Christian voters to stand up and say "enough."
Will Texas voters see through this blasphemous pandering, or will they reward a candidate who thinks the Virgin Mary's story is really about abortion rights?
