A troubling new bill from Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) threatens to slam the courthouse doors shut on working Americans while protecting the same corporate elites who've been bleeding our country dry for decades.
The misleadingly named "Protect Third Party Litigation Funding from Abuse Act" claims it will stop frivolous lawsuits, but patriots need to see through this smokescreen. What it really does is force plaintiffs in "any civil action" to expose every financial backer, creating a chilling effect that will prevent everyday Americans from challenging corporate misconduct.
This isn't about stopping lawsuit abuse - it's about making sure the little guy can never take on the big guy. When working families can't afford the massive legal costs to fight billion-dollar corporations, third-party funding is often their only lifeline to justice. Issa's bill would kill that lifeline.
The Real Agenda Behind the Bill
Social media users are calling out what's really happening here. One Twitter user put it bluntly:
"Some of our WEALTHIEST citizens and corporations are paying characters in the Republican Party to weaken and replace American democracy and the current United States Government simply because they are finished with paying taxes."
This looks like another case of establishment Republicans doing the bidding of their corporate donors instead of fighting for the American people who elected them. While President Trump champions the forgotten men and women of America, some in the GOP are still playing the old swamp games.
Third-party litigation funding isn't "clogging courts" - it's expanding access to justice for Americans who've been wronged by powerful interests. When a family loses everything because of corporate negligence, or when workers are cheated out of wages, these funding arrangements level the playing field.
America First Means Justice First
Real conservatives should be asking: Why is a Republican congressman making it harder for Americans to hold corrupt corporations accountable? This bill reads like it was written by corporate lawyers, not by someone fighting for constitutional rights and equal justice under law.
Patriots need to ask their representatives: Are you standing with working Americans or with the corporate elites who want to rig the system even more in their favor?
