As hundreds of Department of Homeland Security personnel flood into position for Sunday's Super Bowl, Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales is fighting to give our elite Border Patrol tactical teams the legal protections they desperately need when deployed to high-stakes security operations.

The Homeland Threat Response Act, introduced by Rep. Gonzales (TX-23), would strengthen legal safeguards for Border Patrol Tactical Groups when they're called in to secure major public events or respond to mass shootings and terror attacks. These are the same elite units now working overtime under President Trump's mass deportation agenda.

Patriots Stepping Up Where Biden Failed

"Our Border Patrol agents are putting their lives on the line every single day, and they deserve ironclad legal protection when they're defending American lives," Gonzales said. This comes as Trump's border security revolution continues to expose just how badly the previous administration left our frontlines exposed.

The timing couldn't be more critical. With Super Bowl security in full swing and America's most elite tactical teams deployed across the country, these brave men and women need to know they won't be thrown under the bus by activist prosecutors or deep state bureaucrats looking to score political points.

"These tactical units are America's last line of defense against the chaos that radical Democrats allowed to pour across our border for four years," said one Border Patrol source who requested anonymity.

Under Trump's leadership, Border Patrol agents are finally getting the respect and resources they deserve after years of being vilified by the Biden regime and their media allies. But legal protection? That's been a glaring gap that Gonzales is now moving to fill.

Real Security, Real Solutions

While Democrats spent years attacking our border agents as "whip-wielding racists" over debunked photo ops, Republicans are actually doing the work to protect the men and women keeping America safe. The Homeland Threat Response Act represents exactly the kind of common-sense legislation that puts America First.

Patriots across Texas know Gonzales has their back. The question is: will establishment Republicans in Washington have the spine to stand with our Border Patrol heroes, or will they cave to the same deep state pressure that's been undermining border security for decades?

With the Super Bowl coming up, we need our elite teams operating at full capacity without worrying about legal persecution from activist prosecutors. Smart move by this Rep - what's his name though?

My brother works Border Patrol in El Paso and the stories he tells me are unreal. These agents are constantly looking over their shoulders wondering if they'll get sued for doing their job. This protection is long overdue.

FINALLY! These brave men and women put their lives on the line every single day protecting our border and they deserve full legal protection. About time someone in Congress stepped up!

Absolutely right. They're doing the job the federal government should be doing.
