Just days into President Trump's second term, ungrateful American Olympians are already using their platform to bash the commander-in-chief while simultaneously benefiting from representing the United States on the world's biggest stage.
Freestyle skier Hunter Hess told reporters that representing America under Trump "brings up mixed emotions," apparently believing his personal political feelings should overshadow the honor of wearing the red, white, and blue. Hess went on to explain that he views national representation "selectively" - a stunning admission that he picks and chooses when to be proud of his own country.
This is exactly the kind of entitled, anti-American attitude that patriots are sick of seeing from spoiled athletes who have benefited enormously from American freedoms, training facilities, and opportunities.
Where Was This Energy Under Biden?
Notice how these same athletes had nothing but praise for representing America during the disastrous Biden years - when inflation was crushing working families, the border was wide open, and American weakness was on full display globally. But now that we finally have a president putting America First again, suddenly they develop a conscience?
"These athletes should be thanking President Trump for restoring American strength and leadership, not whining about their hurt feelings while cashing checks funded by American taxpayers."
The hypocrisy is staggering. These are the same people who benefit from U.S. Olympic Committee funding, American training facilities, and the prestige that comes with representing the world's greatest nation. Yet they can't put aside their Trump Derangement Syndrome long enough to show basic respect for their country.
Meanwhile, millions of Americans are celebrating Trump's return to office and his promise to Make America Great Again. Real patriots understand that representing your country is an honor, not a political statement.
If these athletes are so conflicted about representing America under Trump, maybe they should consider sitting this one out. There are plenty of proud Americans who would gladly take their spots and represent our nation with the respect it deserves.
