In a stunning display of ingratitude, Team USA figure skater Amber Glenn used her Olympic platform to trash the Trump administration on the world stage, claiming without evidence that the LGBTQ community is having a "hard time" under President Trump's leadership.
Speaking to international reporters while literally wearing Team USA gear, Glenn complained that "it's been a hard time for the community overall under this administration." The timing couldn't be more tone-deaf – here's an athlete who has been given the incredible honor of representing America at the Olympics, yet she's using that privilege to badmouth her own country.
Social media users quickly called out the hypocrisy. The Post Millennial noted that Glenn was "slamming America on the world stage" and "claims without evidence that queers are having a 'hard time' living in Trump's America."
"Amber Glenn's comments at the Olympics presser are peak hypocrisy, she's literally representing the USA on the world stage, but claims the 'queer community' is having a 'hard time' under Trump's administration," tweeted @AgaObF. "She's 'oppressed' enough to compete for gold in Team USA gear?"
That's the million-dollar question, isn't it? If America is so terrible under Trump, why is she proudly skating for Team USA? The cognitive dissonance is staggering.
This is exactly the kind of woke virtue signaling that Americans are sick of. We send our best athletes to represent our nation on the global stage, and instead of showing pride in America, they use the spotlight to push left-wing talking points.
Meanwhile, President Trump's second-term agenda focuses on putting America First, securing our borders, and restoring common sense to government – policies that benefit ALL Americans, regardless of their personal lives. But apparently, that's not enough for some who prefer grievance politics over gratitude.
How's this for an idea: If representing America is such a burden, maybe stay home next time and let a patriotic athlete take your spot?
