Eighteen Americans are dead in New York City after freezing to death on the streets, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise is rightfully pointing the finger at the city's radical socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The Louisiana Republican didn't mince words when confronting the deadly consequences of left-wing governance, blasting Mamdani's failed policies that have turned America's largest city into a frozen hellscape for its most vulnerable citizens.

"This is what socialism looks like in America," Scalise declared, highlighting how the mayor's woke priorities have created a humanitarian disaster right here on American soil. "While Mayor Mamdani virtue signals about 'equity' and 'social justice,' 18 Americans froze to death on his watch."

The tragic deaths come as Democrats continue to reject common-sense DHS deals that would prioritize American citizens over illegal immigrants flooding our cities. Instead of focusing resources on helping homeless Americans survive brutal winter conditions, liberal mayors like Mamdani have been rolling out red carpets for migrants while their own constituents literally freeze to death.

"Every single one of these deaths was preventable," a source close to the situation told reporters. "The city has resources, but they're being diverted to house and feed people who shouldn't even be here."

This is the America First agenda in action, folks. President Trump and leaders like Steve Scalise understand that our government's first responsibility is to American citizens – not virtue signaling to the international community while our own people suffer.

Failed Socialist Experiment Claims Lives

Mamdani's reign of terror in NYC represents everything wrong with modern Democrat governance. While pushing radical climate policies that drive up energy costs and make heating unaffordable for working families, these socialist politicians pat themselves on the back for their "progressive" values.

Meanwhile, 18 families are planning funerals because their loved ones couldn't survive another night in Mamdani's frozen socialist paradise.

How many more Americans have to die before Democrats admit their policies are deadly failures?

Why aren't the mainstream media outlets covering this story? If this happened under a Republican mayor it would be front page news everywhere.

The mayor should resign immediately. These deaths are on his hands and his radical agenda.

Resignation isn't enough - there needs to be a criminal investigation into negligence.

This is what happens when you elect progressive politicians who care more about virtue signaling than actually protecting citizens. My heart goes out to these families.

Exactly! Actions have consequences and the voters need to wake up.

How many more people have to suffer before voters realize that these socialist policies simply don't work? Other cities need to learn from NYC's failures.

I lived in NYC for 15 years and watched it decline under progressive leadership. The homeless situation got exponentially worse while they spent billions with no accountability.

Same here - moved to Florida last year and couldn't be happier. The city is lost.

Where did all the millions in homeless funding actually go? We need a full audit of every dollar spent on these failed programs.
