National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett took to the White House driveway Wednesday morning to deliver a message that should have every Trump-hating economist eating crow: the tariffs are working, and the American economy is thriving because of them.
"People who were naysayers about the tariffs said that we'd have low growth and high inflation," Hassett told reporters. "Instead, we have low inflation and high growth, great job creation and even the Michigan survey is showing that people are feeling the positive effects of Trump."
The 'Experts' Were Dead Wrong
Remember when the legacy media and their favorite Ivy League economists warned us that Trump's tariff policies would send prices skyrocketing and crash the economy? Remember the endless CNN panels predicting doom and gloom? Turns out the American people were right to trust their President over the so-called experts who've been wrong about this economy since Day One.
While Biden left office with Americans drowning in inflation and struggling to afford groceries, President Trump's bold trade policies have done exactly what he promised: protected American workers, brought manufacturing back home, and kept prices in check. That's what America First leadership looks like, folks.
Desperate Media Tries Epstein Smear
Of course, the mainstream media couldn't let good economic news stand without trying to inject their favorite distraction. Reporters attempted to corner Hassett about Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and the recently released Epstein documents—a desperate guilt-by-association smear that's become the left's go-to playbook.
Hassett wasn't having it. "Secretary Lutnick is one of my best friends in the whole wide world, so I'm very comfortable working with him," he said, swatting away the insinuation without hesitation.
It's the same tired game: when they can't attack Trump's results, they resort to character assassination of anyone in his orbit. The American people see through it.
Results Over Rhetoric
The bottom line? While Democrats and their media allies spent years telling Americans that Trump's economic vision was dangerous and reckless, working families are now seeing the truth in their paychecks and at the grocery store. The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Survey—hardly a right-wing outlet—confirms what Patriots already knew: this economy is working for the people.
President Trump promised to put America First. Kevin Hassett just confirmed he's delivering. The question is: will the mainstream media ever report it honestly?
