The legacy media just got served another heaping helping of reality after rushing to defend Irish national Seamus Culleton, whose detention by ICE sparked yet another round of manufactured outrage against President Trump's deportation policies.
According to press accounts that dominated headlines last week, Culleton was just an innocent hardworking immigrant who simply overstayed his 90-day tourist visa by 16 years. The sob story painted Trump's ICE agents as jackbooted thugs targeting productive members of society.
But like so many media narratives these days, the truth tells a very different story.
The Real Story They Didn't Want You to Know
Turns out our "sympathetic" immigrant has a much more colorful past than his supporters wanted the American people to discover. While the mainstream press was busy crafting another anti-Trump immigration narrative, they conveniently ignored the criminal history that actually justified Culleton's removal.
This is exactly the kind of willful blindness that got Trump elected twice. The American people are sick and tired of being lectured about "compassionate" immigration policy while the media covers up the real reasons these deportations are necessary.
"The media keeps falling for these manufactured sob stories because they're so desperate to make Trump look bad, they'll believe anything," one immigration expert noted.
How many times have we seen this same playbook? An illegal immigrant gets detained, activists craft a sympathetic narrative, the media runs with it without doing basic fact-checking, and then the truth eventually comes out after the damage is done.
Media Credibility Hits Rock Bottom
This latest embarrassment perfectly demonstrates why trust in mainstream media continues to crater. They're so invested in opposing Trump's America First agenda that they'll uncritically amplify any story that fits their predetermined narrative.
Meanwhile, ICE agents are doing exactly what the American people elected Trump to do – enforce our immigration laws and remove individuals who have no legal right to be here, especially those with criminal backgrounds.
The only question now is whether any of these so-called journalists will issue corrections or apologize for misleading their audiences. Don't hold your breath, Patriots. They'll probably just move on to the next fake immigration crisis.
