Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty delivered a scathing takedown of Democrats' opposition to voter ID laws on Sunday, revealing what many Americans already suspected: the left's real motivation has nothing to do with "voter suppression" and everything to do with protecting the millions of illegal aliens who flooded our country under the disastrous Biden regime.
Speaking on Fox Business' "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo, Hagerty didn't mince words about the Democrats' true agenda behind their relentless fight against the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act and other common-sense election integrity measures.
"It's no coincidence that Democrats are fighting tooth and nail against voter ID requirements while simultaneously defending the same open border policies that allowed millions of illegal aliens to pour into our communities," Hagerty explained. "The math isn't hard to figure out here, folks."
The Tennessee Republican's comments come as President Trump's administration continues its historic mass deportation operation, finally addressing the border crisis that Biden and the Democrats created and then ignored for four long years.
The Numbers Don't Lie
Here's what makes this even more infuriating: polls consistently show that an overwhelming majority of Americans - including Democrats - support requiring photo ID to vote. We're talking about support levels in the 70-80% range across all demographics. So why are Democrat politicians fighting so hard against something their own voters want?
"When you have politicians fighting against policies that even their own base supports, you have to ask what they're really trying to protect - and it's not democracy," Hagerty noted.
The senator's remarks highlight the growing disconnect between everyday Americans who want secure elections and the radical left politicians who seem more interested in protecting non-citizens than American voters.
With Republicans now controlling Washington, expect to see renewed pushes for the SAVE Act and other election integrity measures that Democrats blocked during their reign of chaos. President Trump has already signaled that securing our elections is a top priority for his second term.
It's time to ask the hard question: if Democrats truly believe in democracy, why are they so afraid of proving you're an American citizen before you vote?
