In a stunning moment of rare honesty from the left, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) admitted this weekend that Democrats were "very wrong" about wanting to eliminate the Senate filibuster - and now that Republicans control Washington, suddenly "we love it."

Speaking on Fox News Channel's "Saturday in America," the hoodie-wearing Pennsylvania Democrat essentially confessed what Patriots have known all along: Democrats only care about rules and norms when it benefits their radical agenda.

"We wanted to eliminate it, now we love it," Fetterman said, referring to the 60-vote threshold that prevents simple majority rule in the Senate. The comment perfectly encapsulates the shameless hypocrisy of the modern Democrat Party.

"We were very wrong about that," Fetterman admitted, though he conveniently left out how Democrats spent years demonizing the filibuster as a "relic of Jim Crow" when it stood in their way.

This flip-flop shouldn't surprise anyone who's been paying attention. When Democrats held the White House and slim Senate control, liberal politicians and their media allies relentlessly attacked the filibuster as an obstacle to "progress." They wanted to ram through their Build Back Better boondoggle, federalize elections, and pack the Supreme Court.

Now that President Trump is back in the Oval Office with a Republican Congress ready to deliver on the America First agenda, suddenly these same Democrats have rediscovered their love for Senate traditions.

Typical Democrat Hypocrisy

Fetterman's admission reveals the purely transactional nature of Democrat politics. When they're in power, any rule or tradition that limits their control must be destroyed. When they're out of power, those same safeguards become sacred democratic institutions.

The filibuster now stands as one of the few obstacles preventing Republicans from swiftly implementing Trump's mandate: mass deportations, border security, energy independence, and rolling back the disastrous Biden policies that nearly destroyed America.

At least Fetterman had the decency to admit what we all knew - but will any mainstream media outlets hold Democrats accountable for their blatant flip-flopping? Don't hold your breath, Patriots.

At least Fetterman is being honest for once. Most Democrats would never admit they were wrong about anything.

Does anyone have the actual quote where he said this? I want to share it but need the full context to make sure it's accurate.

Finally someone on the left admits what we've been saying all along - they only support rules when it benefits them! The hypocrisy is staggering.

Exactly! Remember how they wanted to pack the Supreme Court too until they realized it could backfire?

This is why the filibuster exists in the first place - to prevent either party from ramming through extreme legislation when they have temporary control. The founders were brilliant.

Couldn't agree more. It's a crucial check on mob rule and protects minority rights in the Senate.

I've been following politics for 40 years and this flip-flopping on institutional rules has gotten completely out of hand. Both parties do it but the Dems have taken it to new extremes lately.

Wait, so now that Republicans might take control, suddenly the filibuster is important again? Color me shocked! 🙄
