Late-night propagandist Stephen Colbert just showed us exactly how the left-wing media machine operates when they don't get their way – they throw a tantrum and break their own rules.
The CBS host admitted Monday night that his network pulled his interview with Democratic Texas state Rep. James Talarico due to FCC equal time regulations, which require broadcasters to offer comparable airtime to opposing political candidates. But instead of respecting the law like any responsible broadcaster should, Colbert decided to play rogue activist.
"CBS wouldn't let me air this interview," Colbert whined to his audience, before announcing he was posting the Democrat politician's interview on YouTube anyway – directly contradicting his network's legal team.
Here's what's really happening, folks: The equal time rule exists to prevent exactly this kind of partisan manipulation of our airwaves. When broadcasters give free publicity to political candidates, they must offer the same opportunity to their opponents. It's basic fairness – something the left apparently can't stomach.
The Double Standard Exposed
Think about this for a moment. How many times have we watched these same media elites lecture us about "democracy" and "following institutional norms"? Yet the second a federal regulation gets in the way of their political agenda, they just ignore it.
Talarico, who Colbert was so desperate to promote, represents everything wrong with today's Democratic Party – another progressive politician who likely supports the same failed policies that drove voters to reject the left so decisively in 2024.
"This is exactly why Americans don't trust mainstream media anymore. They pretend to be neutral journalists while openly campaigning for Democrats, then break their own network's rules when caught."
By posting this interview on YouTube, Colbert just proved what we've known all along – these aren't comedians or entertainers, they're Democratic operatives with television shows. And when the system designed to ensure fairness gets in their way, they'll brazenly circumvent it.
The real question is: will CBS take any action against their rogue host, or will they just look the other way while Colbert makes a mockery of broadcast standards? Don't hold your breath, Patriots.
