In yet another disgraceful display of woke ideology trumping basic common sense, Democrat Kansas Governor Laura Kelly vetoed a Republican-led bill Friday that would have protected women and children by requiring people to use restrooms according to their biological sex rather than their made-up "gender identity."
The legislation, passed by the GOP-controlled Kansas Legislature, was a straightforward measure designed to safeguard the privacy and safety of women and girls in intimate spaces. But apparently, that's too much to ask from today's radical Democrat Party.
Kelly's veto is a slap in the face to Kansas parents who simply want their daughters protected from biological males invading female-only spaces. It's the same tired playbook we've seen from Democrats nationwide - bow down to the transgender activists while throwing women's rights under the bus.
The Left's War on Women Continues
This isn't about compassion or "inclusion" - it's about the systematic destruction of biological reality and women's spaces. When Democrats like Kelly veto these common-sense protections, they're essentially telling Kansas families that radical gender ideology matters more than their children's safety.
The transgender lobby has captured the Democrat Party so completely that they can't even support basic measures to protect women and girls in vulnerable spaces.
While President Trump's administration works to restore sanity to federal policy by ending woke mandates, Democrat governors like Kelly are doubling down on the insanity. Kansas families deserve better than a governor who puts political correctness ahead of their children's wellbeing.
The good news? With growing parental awareness and the Trump administration's strong leadership on these issues, more Americans are waking up to the radical left's assault on basic biology and common sense. States across the nation are passing similar protective legislation, often with overwhelming public support.
Kansas patriots need to remember Kelly's betrayal come election time. When Democrats show you who they are - believe them.
