New Jersey's newly appointed Attorney General Jennifer Davenport just handed a massive victory to one of the Garden State's most powerful Democratic operatives, announcing she won't challenge an appellate court ruling that dismissed corruption charges against South Jersey power broker George Norcross.

The decision effectively kills the high-profile indictment against Norcross, a behind-the-scenes kingmaker who has controlled Democratic politics in South Jersey for decades. This represents a stunning reversal from the previous administration's aggressive pursuit of the case.

Davenport, handpicked by Governor Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), is signaling a dramatic shift in priorities from her predecessor Matt Platkin, who had been pushing the corruption case forward. The timing couldn't be more suspicious – a new Democratic governor installs a new attorney general, and suddenly the corruption case against a powerful Democrat just... disappears?

The Swamp Protects Its Own

This is exactly the kind of swamp behavior that Americans are sick and tired of. When Democrats control the levers of power, somehow corruption cases against their own allies mysteriously evaporate. Meanwhile, they'll spend years prosecuting their political opponents over paperwork violations.

Norcross has been accused of using his political influence to orchestrate lucrative tax incentive deals that benefited his business interests – classic pay-to-play politics that has plagued New Jersey for generations. But apparently, that kind of cronyism is perfectly acceptable when it's Democrats doing it.

The appellate court's dismissal gave Davenport the perfect cover to drop the case while claiming she's just "following the law." How convenient that the law suddenly works in favor of powerful Democrats when they need it most.

Patriots should ask themselves: Would this same courtesy be extended to a Republican power broker? We all know the answer to that question. The two-tiered justice system that President Trump has been fighting against extends far beyond federal agencies – it's infected state governments too.

New Jersey taxpayers deserve better than a justice system that protects the connected while ignoring corruption in the ranks of the Democratic Party establishment.

As someone who's been following New Jersey politics for decades, this doesn't surprise me one bit. The Democrat party machine protects itself while hardworking taxpayers get stuck with the bill.

The two-tiered justice system is alive and well. If this was a Republican, they'd throw the book at them. We need serious election reform in this state.

100% this! The double standard is infuriating.

I want to know what kind of backroom deal was made here. You don't just abandon a corruption case without something changing hands.

Follow the money! There's always a trail with these corrupt Democrats.

This reminds me of when Bob Menendez walked away from his corruption charges. New Jersey Democrats seem untouchable - it's disgusting.

Typical swamp behavior. When will these politicians be held accountable like the rest of us would be?

Of course they did! This is exactly what we've been saying about the Democrat machine - they protect their own no matter what. The corruption runs deep in New Jersey politics.

Couldn't agree more Mike. Been living here 40 years and it's the same story over and over.
