In a victory for law and order, an anti-ICE rioter who injured a federal officer by hurling rocks through a car window during last summer's violent protests in Los Angeles County has pleaded guilty to assaulting a federal officer.

Elpidio Reyna, 41, admitted Tuesday to one count of assault with a deadly or dangerous weapon resulting in bodily injury against a Customs and Border Protection officer. The guilty plea marks another win for the Trump administration's zero-tolerance approach to attacks on federal law enforcement.

This case perfectly illustrates the stark difference between the Biden regime's coddling of left-wing rioters and President Trump's unwavering support for our brave men and women in uniform. Under Biden, these anti-ICE thugs thought they could attack federal officers with impunity while Democrats cheered them on.

The Left's War on Immigration Enforcement

Remember when Democrats were literally calling to "abolish ICE" and treating immigration enforcement like it was some kind of human rights violation? Reyna's violent assault on a CBP officer is the natural result of that dangerous rhetoric.

These weren't "peaceful protesters" - they were violent criminals attacking the very people tasked with protecting our borders and enforcing our immigration laws. While mainstream media painted these riots as "mostly peaceful demonstrations," real Americans saw them for what they were: attacks on the rule of law itself.

Now that President Trump is back in office and his mass deportation operations are in full swing, attacking federal immigration officers isn't just morally wrong - it's a federal crime that will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

"Every single person who thinks they can assault our federal officers will face the consequences," one law enforcement source told reporters.

This guilty plea should send a clear message to anyone considering violence against ICE, CBP, or any other federal law enforcement: President Trump has their backs, and attackers will face justice.

How many more of these anti-ICE rioters need to face prison time before the left learns that the rule of law actually means something again?

My son serves as a border patrol agent and deals with this chaos daily. These attacks on federal officers are attacks on all of us who believe in the rule of law.

Finally! It's about time these violent agitators face real consequences for attacking our federal officers. Law and order must be upheld.

I wonder how much taxpayer money was wasted on all the damage these riots caused. Will there be any restitution required as part of the sentence?

Great question - the cleanup costs alone must have been enormous. Taxpayers shouldn't be stuck with the bill.

This is exactly why we need stronger deterrents against attacking federal officers. Maybe this conviction will make others think twice before engaging in this kind of violence.

The fact that it took this long to get a conviction is concerning. Our justice system needs to move faster when federal officers are assaulted during riots.

The wheels of justice turn slowly, but at least they're turning in the right direction here.
