Vice President JD Vance just delivered the reality check that every patriotic American has been waiting for regarding Eileen Gu, the U.S.-born freestyle skier who chose to compete for Communist China at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
While the mainstream media continues to fawn over Gu as their latest "It Girl" of the games, Vance cut through the propaganda and called out what this really represents: another example of Americans turning their backs on the country that gave them everything.
"It's pretty telling when American-born athletes choose to represent authoritarian regimes over the nation that provided them with the opportunities to excel," Vance stated during a press briefing. "We're watching someone who benefited from American freedoms and resources now competing under the flag of a country that oppresses its own people."
And he's absolutely right. Gu, who was born and raised in California, made the calculated decision to ditch Team USA for China – the same regime that runs concentration camps, suppresses free speech, and poses the greatest threat to American interests globally.
Media Hypocrisy on Full Display
What makes this even more disgusting is how the same media outlets that celebrate Gu are the ones cheering on other U.S. Olympians who use their platforms to trash America on the world stage. They'll praise an athlete who kneels during the national anthem but give a free pass to someone who literally competes for our biggest adversary.
"While we support every athlete's right to make their own choices, Americans have every right to question the loyalty and judgment of those who choose authoritarian regimes over the country that made their success possible," Vance added.
This isn't about athletic competition – it's about values and allegiance. When you choose to represent China over America, you're making a statement about which system you believe in. And Patriots across the country are taking note.
Finally, we have leadership willing to call out this betrayal for what it really is. How do you feel about American-born athletes competing for our enemies?
