Just three weeks into President Trump's historic mass deportation campaign, a Republican congressman is already working to handcuff our ICE agents with dangerous new requirements that could put their lives at risk.
Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA) told PBS NewsHour on Thursday that "there should be identification on" ICE agents conducting enforcement operations, suggesting they wear badge numbers or other identifying markers during raids and arrests of illegal immigrants.
"Some way that, if an officer is involved in an instance, an officer-related shooting or something else, that they could be identified," Mackenzie said, parroting the same anti-police talking points we heard from Black Lives Matter activists targeting local law enforcement.
This is exactly the kind of establishment Republican thinking that got us into this mess in the first place. While President Trump is finally delivering on his promise to remove millions of illegal aliens who have invaded our country, weak-kneed Republicans are already looking for ways to tie the hands of our brave ICE agents.
Playing Into Leftist Hands
Mackenzie's proposal plays directly into the Democrats' playbook. The radical left wants nothing more than to identify, target, and intimidate ICE officers who are simply doing their jobs - enforcing the law and protecting American citizens.
These agents are already operating in hostile territory, with sanctuary city mayors actively obstructing federal immigration enforcement and leftist groups organizing resistance against deportation efforts. The last thing they need is additional identification requirements that make them sitting ducks for Antifa thugs and open-borders extremists.
Where was Mackenzie's concern for "accountability" when the Biden regime was flying illegal aliens to cities across America in the dead of night? Why wasn't he demanding transparency when Border Patrol agents were being overwhelmed by the largest invasion in our nation's history?
Patriots didn't send Republicans to Congress to make excuses for the Deep State or to second-guess President Trump's enforcement priorities. We sent them there to back up our America First agenda - not water it down with bureaucratic red tape.
The question every Pennsylvania voter should be asking: Is Ryan Mackenzie fighting for Americans, or is he just another RINO looking to score points with the mainstream media?
