WEAK: DNC Chair Says Dems Want to 'Do Something' with Iran, Venezuela But Can't Say What

The new Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin just perfectly encapsulated everything wrong with his party's foreign policy approach: lots of complaining about President Trump, zero actual solutions.

During Tuesday's appearance on CNN's "The Lead," Martin was asked about how Democrats would handle the Iranian regime and Venezuela's Maduro dictatorship. His response? We should "do something" – but not what Trump's doing, of course.

"We should respond" to the evil actions of these regimes, Martin declared, before immediately admitting Democrats have no clue what that response should actually look like. Classic Democrat move: criticize Trump's strength while offering absolutely nothing in return.

"What that response looks like, though, should..." Martin trailed off, apparently unable to complete his own thought about how to deal with America's enemies.

This is the same party that gave us the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal, remember? The same Democrats who watched Maduro steal elections and oppress his own people while doing virtually nothing during the Obama-Biden years.

Meanwhile, President Trump has been taking decisive action since returning to office. His administration has already signaled a return to maximum pressure campaigns and America First foreign policy – the exact approach that kept our enemies in check during his first term.

Empty Rhetoric vs. Real Leadership

Martin's wishy-washy comments highlight exactly why Americans rejected the Democrats' weak leadership in 2024. When pressed on serious national security issues, all they can offer is vague promises to "do something" while simultaneously attacking the president who actually has a track record of results.

Iran was contained during Trump's first presidency. Venezuela's opposition had hope. Compare that to the chaos we saw under Biden – Iran's proxy wars spreading across the Middle East, Maduro consolidating power while his people suffered.

Patriots deserve leaders who can articulate clear strategies for protecting American interests, not party chairs who stumble through softball interviews on friendly networks. Martin's performance shows the Democrats remain the party of criticism without solutions – exactly why they'll keep losing elections.

This is exactly what's wrong with the current administration - all talk, no substance. They criticize Trump's foreign policy but can't articulate a coherent alternative.

At least Trump had actual policies, even if the media hated them. This is just empty rhetoric.

Anyone else notice how they always have vague plans to 'engage' with hostile regimes? What does that even mean with countries like Iran and Venezuela?

It means appeasement dressed up in diplomatic language. We've seen this playbook before.

Weak leadership leads to global instability. Period.

"Do something" isn't a foreign policy strategy. My son is deployed overseas and deserves leadership that knows what they're doing, not this wishy-washy nonsense.
