Another day, another Democrat embarrassment. Washington state House Majority Leader Joe Fitzgibbon – yes, the guy Democrats trusted to help run their state – showed up drunk to a budget committee hearing and slurred his way through official business like a college freshman at his first frat party.
The pathetic display was so obvious that even Fitzgibbon couldn't deny it, issuing a groveling apology for being "impaired" during the hearing. Translation: he was hammered while discussing how to spend taxpayers' hard-earned money.
"I sincerely apologize for my behavior during today's committee hearing," Fitzgibbon said in a statement that probably took three attempts to spell correctly. "I should not have participated in the hearing while impaired."
