Columbia University—the same institution that has allowed radical anti-American sentiment to fester on its campus for years—is suddenly trying to distance itself from the extremist student group Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) after the coalition openly chanted "death to America" following Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's assassination this weekend.
The timing is telling, Patriots. For months, Columbia has turned a blind eye to CUAD's anti-Israel hatred and radical activism that has spilled into Manhattan's streets. But now that these student extremists are literally echoing the battle cry of America's enemies, the university brass is finally feeling the heat.
CUAD, which operates as a coalition of anti-Israel student groups "outside of the purview of a registered student organization," didn't exactly mourn the death of Iran's brutal dictator. Instead, these campus radicals doubled down on the same "Death to America" chants that Khamenei himself used to rally his terrorist regime against our nation.
Too Little, Too Late
Columbia's attempt at damage control is laughable. This is the same university that has allowed these groups to operate with impunity, spreading their anti-American poison to impressionable students while taxpayers help fund the institution through federal grants and student loans.
"We cannot allow American universities to become breeding grounds for anti-American extremism," said one concerned parent whose son attends Columbia. "These institutions need to be held accountable for the radicals they're creating."
Under President Trump's second term, there's finally hope that institutions like Columbia will face real consequences for harboring anti-American extremists. The Trump administration has already signaled its commitment to rooting out woke ideology from federally funded institutions.
The question remains: How many more Columbia graduates will enter the workforce with a burning hatred for the country that gave them every opportunity? And how long will American taxpayers continue subsidizing universities that hate America?
It's time for Columbia—and every university like it—to choose a side. Are they American institutions, or anti-American indoctrination centers?
