Another day, another Democrat caught red-handed lying to voters. Illinois Lieutenant Governor Julianna Stratton, who has repeatedly touted her "grassroots" Senate campaign to progressive voters, has been secretly bankrolled by wealthy corporate elites to the tune of millions of dollars.
Sound familiar, Patriots? It should. This is the same playbook Democrats have been running for decades – promise the people a campaign "by the people," then cash checks from the same corporate overlords they claim to oppose.
Stratton's hypocrisy runs deeper than just her funding sources. Political observers are noting that her campaign represents Democrats' desperate attempt to maintain their grip on minority voters. As Jacob Rubashkin pointed out on social media, "Democrats' opportunities to elect any new Black senators this cycle are now probably confined to Illinois, where Stratton is making a late push against Krishnamoorthi and Kelly."
Anti-Israel Extremism Taking Over Democrat Party
But Stratton's problems don't end with her corporate donors. She's also facing criticism from her own party's radical anti-Israel wing over a 2019 meeting with Israeli politician Tzipi Livni. Political reporter Daniel Lippman revealed how "Israel has become so unpopular among Democrats that candidates in primaries are using even small connections to the country to hit opponents."
"Sympathy for Palestinians is rising among Democrats, reflecting a shift in voter perspectives on Gaza issues," noted another social media observer, highlighting how far left the Democrat Party has lurched.
This is what happens when a political party abandons its principles and becomes captive to both corporate money and radical ideology. Stratton can't even keep her own stories straight – is she the grassroots champion fighting corporate interests, or is she the corporate-backed candidate trying to appease anti-Semitic extremists in her own party?
The answer is clear: she's whatever her donors and activist base want her to be on any given day. That's not leadership – that's political opportunism at its worst.
Illinois voters deserve better than another corporate-backed Democrat masquerading as a woman of the people. Will they see through Stratton's deception, or will they fall for the same old lies that have failed working families for generations?
