In what can only be described as one of the most tone-deaf and heartless moments in recent congressional history, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) told grieving Angel Families during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday that he was "sorry" for their losses—but Americans are more likely to be murdered by fellow Americans than by illegal aliens.
Let that sink in, Patriots. This Democrat lawmaker looked at parents who buried their children because of preventable crimes committed by people who shouldn't have been in this country in the first place, and essentially told them their pain doesn't matter because of statistics.
Angel Families Deserve Better Than Democrat Deflection
Angel Families—parents whose children were murdered, raped, or killed by drunk-driving illegal aliens—traveled to Washington to share their stories and advocate for the border security policies President Trump has been fighting to implement. Instead of listening with compassion, Cohen decided to lecture them about crime statistics.
This is the same warped logic Democrats have used for years to justify their open borders agenda. Rather than acknowledging that every single one of these tragedies was 100% preventable if our immigration laws were enforced, they'd rather play statistical games with grieving parents.
Americans are rightfully outraged by Cohen's callous remarks. Social media erupted with fury, with one user calling Cohen "a complete piece of shit" and asking "How can anyone support democrats." Another described the moment as "disgusting," while a third labeled Cohen "a piece of crap" and declared "#democratsAreTheEnemy."
The Real Truth About Illegal Alien Crime
What Cohen conveniently ignores is that crimes committed by illegal aliens are entirely preventable through proper border enforcement—something the Trump administration is now delivering after four years of Biden's border catastrophe. Every Angel Family represents a failure of government to protect American citizens first.
While Democrats play word games and cite misleading statistics, President Trump continues implementing the largest deportation operation in American history. The contrast couldn't be clearer: Trump fights for Angel Families, while Democrats dismiss their suffering.
How can any decent American vote for a party that treats grieving parents with such contempt?
