But here's what Mamdani apparently didn't care about: Akl has publicly called for the terrorist bombing of Tel Aviv, supports Hamas, and has led crowds in chanting "Intifada"—the Arabic term for violent uprising against Israel.
This isn't just poor vetting—this is a deliberate choice that reveals Mamdani's true colors. When you're the mayor of a city with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, and you choose to be honored by someone demanding terrorist attacks on the Jewish state, you're sending a crystal clear message about where your loyalties lie.

Abdullah Akl isn't some moderate community leader who occasionally says controversial things. This man has actively promoted violence against Israeli civilians and supports a terrorist organization that the United States has designated as such. Yet somehow, he was deemed appropriate to honor New York's mayor.
Where's the outrage from the mainstream media? Where are the calls for accountability? If this had been a conservative mayor honored by someone with ties to any right-wing extremist group, the legacy media would be calling for resignations and running wall-to-wall coverage.
