A decorated American war hero is dead after being gunned down by a convicted ISIS terrorist at Old Dominion University in Virginia Thursday, exposing once again the deadly consequences of our nation's broken immigration and national security policies.
Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah, a beloved military instructor, was fatally shot by Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a naturalized citizen and former National Guard soldier who had previously been convicted of supporting the Islamic State terror organization. Let that sink in, patriots – a known ISIS sympathizer was walking free on American soil and had access to our military.
How Did This Terrorist Slip Through The Cracks?
Jalloh's ability to carry out this attack raises serious questions about the vetting processes that allowed a terrorist sympathizer to not only remain in our country but to serve in our National Guard. This is exactly the kind of security failure that President Trump has been warning about for years.
Lieutenant Colonel Shah dedicated his life to serving our great nation, only to be murdered by the very type of radical Islamic terrorist our military fights overseas. The irony is as heartbreaking as it is infuriating.
"This tragedy could have been prevented if we had proper screening and deportation policies for terror supporters," one military source told reporters.
While the mainstream media will likely downplay the terrorist angle and focus on gun control talking points, real Americans know the truth: this was an act of Islamic terrorism on U.S. soil, carried out by someone who never should have been here in the first place.
Time For Action
President Trump's administration must use this tragedy as a wake-up call to purge our military and government agencies of anyone with ties to terrorist organizations. We cannot allow political correctness to put more American heroes at risk.
How many more decorated veterans must die before we take the Islamic terror threat seriously? Lieutenant Colonel Shah's sacrifice demands answers – and action.
