Virginia's Democrat Governor is facing a firestorm of criticism after her pathetically weak response to what the FBI is investigating as a potential terrorist attack at Old Dominion University that left a heroic military officer dead and two others wounded.
Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, an ODU professor of military science, was murdered Thursday when an armed attacker opened fire on campus before brave students were able to subdue and kill the terrorist. Yet instead of honoring this fallen American hero or demanding answers about how this happened, the Governor delivered the kind of milquetoast, politically correct statement that exemplifies everything wrong with today's Democrat leadership.
Patriots across Virginia are absolutely livid at the Governor's tone-deaf response that failed to acknowledge the sacrifice of Lt. Col. Shah or the heroism of the students who stopped what could have been a massacre. This is exactly the kind of weak, unfocused leadership that President Trump warned us about during his campaign.
"She won't even call it what it is - a terrorist attack on American soil that targeted our military," one furious Virginia parent posted on social media. "This is why we need strong leadership, not these Democrat apologists."
While the FBI investigates potential terrorism connections, Virginians are asking tough questions: How did this attacker get access to campus? Were there warning signs that were ignored? And why is their own Governor more concerned with political correctness than protecting innocent Americans?
This incident highlights exactly why President Trump's America First agenda resonates with real Americans who are sick of politicians who refuse to defend our homeland and honor our heroes. Lt. Col. Shah dedicated his life to training the next generation of military leaders - he deserved better than this pathetic political response.
The Governor's weak statement stands in stark contrast to the brave students who actually took action when it mattered. Maybe it's time Virginia elected leaders who share that same courage instead of politicians who can't even properly honor a fallen American hero.
