The mask is finally off. Senate Republicans are openly sabotaging President Trump's SAVE America Act, and their brazen betrayal of American voters has reached new levels of disgust that would make even the most cynical swamp creature blush.
From Majority Leader John Thune's pathetic failure theater to Texas Senator John Cornyn's spineless filibuster flip-flop, and Alaska's Lisa Murkowski flat-out opposing legislation that would secure our elections, the GOP establishment is showing their true colors – and those colors aren't red, white, and blue.
What exactly are these RINOs so terrified of? The SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. You know, that radical concept that most Americans assume is already the law. But apparently, asking people to prove they're actually American citizens before choosing America's leaders is too extreme for the country club Republicans who've been feeding at the D.C. trough for decades.
The Swamp Protects Itself
Here's what's really happening: These establishment Republicans know that cleaning up our election system means accountability. It means their cozy deals with lobbyists, their backroom arrangements with Democrats, and their comfortable positions become a lot less secure when elections actually reflect the will of the American people.
President Trump campaigned on draining the swamp, and the American people gave him a decisive mandate in 2024. But the swamp creatures – even the ones with 'R' next to their names – are fighting back with everything they've got.
"The Senate GOP's refusal to do what's necessary to pass the SAVE America Act has been a sight to behold," according to The Federalist's analysis of this legislative betrayal.
Patriots, this is exactly why Trump's America First movement exists. We didn't vote for more of the same establishment games. We voted for real change, and that includes Republicans who actually represent their constituents instead of their own political interests.
The question every American should be asking: If these senators won't fight for something as basic as election integrity, what exactly will they fight for? The answer is becoming clearer every day – themselves.
