Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) is pulling no punches in his call to completely overhaul America's disastrous legal immigration system after two devastating terrorist attacks carried out by naturalized U.S. citizens who never should have been allowed into our country in the first place.
Speaking on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle Thursday night, the Show Me State's junior senator delivered a scathing assessment of how our immigration system has become a highway for terrorists while Democrats play political games with national security by shutting down the Department of Homeland Security.
"We need to reform our entire legal immigration system," Schmitt declared. "We're literally welcoming people who want to kill Americans, while hardworking patriots can't get a fair shake. This is insanity."
The senator's comments come as Americans are reeling from two separate terror incidents involving naturalized citizens from Third World countries – attacks that could have been prevented if we had proper vetting and immigration controls that actually put Americans first.
But instead of addressing this clear and present danger to American families, what are Democrats doing? They're shutting down DHS over their obsession with protecting illegal aliens and maintaining their broken status quo that enriches special interests while endangering everyday Americans.
Trump Administration Ready to Fix Biden's Mess
This is exactly why President Trump won such a decisive mandate in 2024. Americans are fed up with an immigration system that benefits everyone except actual Americans. While families struggle to make ends meet, we're importing people who hate our country and want to destroy our way of life.
Senator Schmitt understands what millions of patriots know: it's time to completely rebuild our immigration system from the ground up. No more chain migration. No more lottery systems. No more importing people who refuse to assimilate or, worse yet, actively plot against us.
The Trump-Vance Administration has already begun the largest deportation operation in American history, but Schmitt is right – we need comprehensive reform of legal immigration too. Why are we making it easier for potential terrorists to get citizenship than for law-abiding Americans to find good-paying jobs?
How many more American families have to suffer before we finally put America First in our own immigration system?
