The Democrats' mask came off again this week when Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) admitted on CNN that requiring voters to show photo ID isn't about election integrity - it's about what he calls "suppressing the vote." Translation: making it harder for Democrats to harvest ballots and manipulate elections.
Speaking on CNN's "The Lead," the South Carolina Democrat attacked the SAVE America Act, claiming the legislation requiring proof of citizenship to vote has nothing to do with ensuring only legal Americans participate in our elections. Instead, Clyburn parroted the same tired talking points Democrats have used for decades to justify their opposition to basic election security measures.
"This is about suppressing the vote," Clyburn declared, apparently unaware that requiring valid identification suppresses only one thing - illegal voting.
What Clyburn won't tell you is that the SAVE Act would close massive loopholes that allow non-citizens to register and vote in federal elections. Currently, someone can register to vote by simply checking a box claiming they're a citizen - no proof required. The legislation would require actual documentation, just like you need to board a plane or buy alcohol.
This is the same James Clyburn who helped engineer the 2020 Democrat primary coup that installed Joe Biden as the nominee. Now he's worried that requiring proof of citizenship might interfere with whatever vote manipulation schemes Democrats have planned for future elections.
The Real Voter Suppression
Here's what's really being "suppressed" when we require voter ID: illegal votes, fraudulent registrations, and non-citizen participation in American elections. Every illegal vote cancels out the vote of a legitimate American citizen - that's the real voter suppression Democrats like Clyburn support.
President Trump's administration has made election integrity a top priority, and Democrats are panicking. They know their house of cards built on loose election laws and ballot harvesting operations can't survive basic security measures that most Americans support.
The question patriots need to ask is simple: if Democrats have nothing to hide, why are they so terrified of proving voters are who they say they are?
