New York Governor Kathy Hochul has been caught red-handed begging wealthy residents to move back to her failing state after previously telling Republicans to pack up and head to Florida — exposing the stunning hypocrisy and economic desperation of Democrat leadership.
During a Politico forum in Albany, Hochul was reduced to pleading with high net worth individuals to return to New York's punishing tax environment, admitting her state desperately needs their money to fund bloated welfare programs that have become unsustainable.
"I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state," Hochul confessed, finally acknowledging what conservatives have said all along — liberal policies don't work without other people's money.
The Left's Tax-and-Spend Chickens Come Home to Roost
This is the same governor who famously told Republicans they weren't welcome in New York and should move to Florida if they didn't like her radical agenda. Well, guess what? They listened — and took their tax dollars with them.
Hochul even admitted the obvious truth that Democrats refuse to acknowledge: "They're not going there because they have a nicer governor... They're going there because of the tax rate."
"When you drive out your tax base with hostile rhetoric and crushing taxes, don't be surprised when the bills come due and there's nobody left to pay them."
This pathetic display comes as New York's legislature pushes for even HIGHER taxes, proving these people never learn. They want to punish success while simultaneously begging successful people to stick around and fund their socialist experiments.
Florida's Winning Formula
Meanwhile, Governor Ron DeSantis continues to welcome New York's refugees with open arms and zero state income tax. Florida's population boom and economic growth speak for themselves — free market policies work, period.
Patriots across America are witnessing the predictable collapse of blue state economics in real time. When you combine crushing taxes with open hostility toward conservatives and business owners, this is what you get — desperate governors begging people to come back and pay for programs they can't afford.
How long before other Democrat governors start making similar desperate pleas? The exodus from blue states shows no signs of slowing, and frankly, why should it?
