Washington Examiner columnist Salena Zito delivered a scorching condemnation of the sick conspiracy theories circulating on social media that question the legitimacy of President Trump's July 2024 assassination attempt, calling the rumors "crude" and "vulgar" during Monday remarks.
The conspiracy theories, spreading like wildfire across X (formerly Twitter), have targeted everything from the initial reaction of rally-goers behind Trump to the circumstances surrounding the Butler, Pennsylvania shooting that nearly claimed the life of our 47th President.
But Zito isn't having any of it. The respected journalist pointed to a critical factor these armchair detectives are completely ignoring: shell shock.
Think about it, Patriots. When bullets start flying and chaos erupts, normal people don't react like action movie heroes. They freeze. They duck. They experience the very real psychological phenomenon that our veterans know all too well.
"These rumors are crude and vulgar," Zito stated, defending the integrity of the witnesses who lived through that terrifying moment when the Deep State's worst nightmare nearly came true.
It's disgusting that we even have to discuss this, but here we are. President Trump survived an actual assassination attempt - the kind of political violence that should unite all Americans in condemnation. Instead, we have keyboard warriors spreading poison about one of the darkest moments in recent American history.
The fact that Trump not only survived but went on to win the 2024 election in a landslide should be celebrated, not questioned by conspiracy theorists who clearly have too much time on their hands.
Zito's defense of the truth comes at a crucial time when President Trump is delivering on his America First agenda from the Oval Office. While he's busy Making America Great Again, these conspiracy peddlers are busy making themselves look foolish.
When will Americans focus on what really matters - supporting our President as he drains the swamp and restores our nation's greatness?
