The mask is officially off. Representative Jim McGovern (D-MA) just admitted what Patriots have known all along – Democrats would rather shut down the government than fund the agencies protecting Americans from illegal immigration.
In a stunning display of anti-American priorities, McGovern told CBS's "The Takeout" on Wednesday that he flat-out refuses to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "I don't want to fund ICE," the Massachusetts Democrat declared, while simultaneously blaming President Trump for potential shutdowns of DHS and TSA.
Let that sink in, folks. While hardworking Americans face the consequences of the Biden border disaster that Trump is now cleaning up, McGovern and his fellow Democrats are actively working to defund the very agencies tasked with removing criminal illegal aliens from our communities.
Democrats Choose Illegals Over Americans
McGovern's confession exposes the radical left's true agenda. He claims Trump is "insisting on doubling down on funding ICE and CBP" as if protecting American citizens is somehow extreme. Meanwhile, this same congressman says he's willing to fund TSA, Coast Guard, and FEMA through a discharge petition – everything except the agencies actually securing our border.
"I don't want to fund ICE. But I've signed onto a discharge petition to fund all the other agencies, TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA," McGovern admitted.
This is the same ICE that removes MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, and violent criminals who have no right to be in our country. The same ICE that reunites missing children with their families and dismantles human trafficking networks.

President Trump campaigned on the largest deportation operation in American history, and he's delivering. Unlike the previous administration that treated our border like a welcome mat for cartels and criminals, Trump 47 is putting America First once again.
McGovern's tantrum reveals just how desperate Democrats have become. They can't defend their failed policies, so they're willing to hold national security hostage rather than support the agencies keeping Americans safe.
