The blood of an innocent American woman is on the hands of Fairfax County officials who deliberately ignored federal immigration detainers, allowing a dangerous illegal immigrant to roam free and ultimately commit murder.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed this week that Fairfax County - a so-called "sanctuary jurisdiction" in northern Virginia - completely disregarded a federal detention request filed in 2023 against the illegal alien now accused of stabbing a woman to death.
This is exactly what President Trump warned about during his first term, and exactly why his administration is now moving aggressively to end these deadly sanctuary city policies once and for all.
Sanctuary Policies Kill Americans
How many more innocent Americans must die before these radical Democrat jurisdictions stop protecting criminal aliens over their own citizens? Fairfax County had this dangerous individual in their custody and chose to release him back onto the streets rather than honor the ICE detainer.
The woman who was brutally stabbed to death would be alive today if Fairfax County had simply followed federal law and cooperated with immigration authorities. Instead, their virtue-signaling sanctuary policies created the perfect storm for tragedy.
"This is a preventable death caused by reckless sanctuary city policies that put illegal immigrants before American lives," one ICE official told the Washington Examiner.
Under the Trump-Vance administration, these deadly games are coming to an end. The President has already begun the largest deportation operation in American history, and sanctuary jurisdictions like Fairfax County are being put on notice.
Justice is Coming
Attorney General Pam Bondi and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem have the tools they need to hold these rogue jurisdictions accountable. Federal funding should be stripped from any locality that refuses to cooperate with immigration enforcement.
Patriots across America are demanding action, and this administration is delivering. How many more Kate Steinles and Laken Rileys must we lose before every jurisdiction in America puts American lives first?
The Trump administration's mass deportation efforts can't come fast enough. Every day these sanctuary policies remain in place, more American families are at risk of losing loved ones to preventable crimes.
