The mainstream media may finally be doing its job for once. Washington Examiner columnist Guy Benson is backing reporters who are digging into the disturbing social media activity of Rama Duwaji, the wife of New York City's radical leftist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
According to reports, Duwaji liked social media posts celebrating Hamas terrorists' October 7, 2023 massacre of innocent Israelis. You know, the attack where over 1,200 people were brutally murdered, women were raped, and babies were burned alive. Apparently, that's something worth "liking" in the Mamdani household.
Benson called the controversial posts "a valid news story" that reporters should absolutely pursue. Finally, someone in media with a backbone.
"When you're talking about the spouse of a major political figure engaging with content that celebrates terrorism, that's fair game for journalists," Benson noted.
But here's what's really telling, Patriots: this story isn't getting wall-to-wall coverage like it should be. If this were the wife of a Republican mayor liking posts about any conservative cause, the legacy media would be running 24/7 coverage demanding resignations.
Instead, we get crickets from the usual suspects at CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the state-run media complex.
This is exactly the kind of radical anti-American, anti-Israel sentiment that has infected the Democrat Party from top to bottom. Mayor Mamdani represents the new face of the left - young, radical, and apparently married to someone who celebrates the slaughter of our Israeli allies.
New Yorkers deserve to know exactly what kind of people they've elected to run their city. If Mamdani can't even keep his own household from cheering on terrorists, how can he be trusted to keep NYC safe from the very same radical ideology?
The real question isn't whether this story is "fair game" - it's why more journalists aren't asking the hard questions about the anti-Semitic rot spreading through the Democrat Party.
