BREAKING: House CONSERVATIVES Revolt Against Senate GOP Deal - Call It 'POLITICAL TRAP' in SAVE Act Fight

House conservatives are in full revolt mode against their own party leadership after Senate Republicans cut a deal with the White House to end the Department of Homeland Security shutdown, abandoning key provisions of the SAVE Act that would require proof of citizenship for voter registration.

The brewing GOP civil war exploded into public view as conservative House members slammed what they're calling a "political trap" - a Senate promise to address ICE funding increases and voter ID requirements through budget reconciliation instead of the current spending bill.

"This is the same old song and dance we've heard for decades," one conservative House member told reporters. "They promise us they'll fight for our priorities later, but later never comes. Meanwhile, illegals keep pouring across our border and voting in our elections."

Establishment Republicans Cave Again

The SAVE Act, which passed the House with overwhelming Republican support, would require states to verify citizenship before registering voters - a common-sense measure that should be a no-brainer for any party serious about election integrity. But Senate Republicans, apparently more concerned with avoiding a government shutdown than protecting American elections, agreed to strip the provision in exchange for vague promises about future action.

Sound familiar? It should. This is the same playbook establishment Republicans have used for years - fold on conservative priorities in exchange for meaningless promises they never intend to keep.

"We're tired of being Charlie Brown while leadership plays Lucy with the football," another House conservative said. "Every time we trust them to fight for our agenda later, they pull the ball away at the last second."

The revolt puts President Trump in a difficult position, caught between his conservative base demanding action on election integrity and Senate Republicans who seem more interested in maintaining the status quo than delivering on America First promises.

Will Trump side with the grassroots conservatives who put him back in the White House, or will he cave to the same establishment forces that have been undermining the MAGA agenda for years? Patriots are watching closely - and they won't forget come primary season.

I've been calling my congressman's office every week about the SAVE Act. Glad to see some representatives actually listening to their constituents instead of the lobbyists in DC.

Finally! House conservatives showing some backbone. The Senate GOP has been selling us out for years with these so-called 'compromise' deals that give Democrats everything they want.

Exactly right. McConnell and his crew never learn - you can't negotiate with people who hate America.

Can someone explain what specific provisions in the Senate deal make it a 'political trap'? I want to understand the details before calling my representative.

This is why we need Trump back in 2024. House conservatives are the only ones fighting for real Americans while the establishment GOP plays political games.

100% agree. The swamp runs deep on both sides of the aisle unfortunately.
