DISGRACEFUL: Providence Mayor Wants to ERASE Ukrainian Murder Victim's Mural While Protecting 'Pride' Crosswalk

Say her name: Iryna Zarutska. She was a legal refugee from Ukraine who came to America seeking safety, only to be brutally murdered in cold blood by Decarlos Brown on a light rail car in Charlotte, North Carolina. Now, in a move that perfectly encapsulates the warped priorities of the radical left, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley wants to erase a mural honoring this innocent victim's memory.

But here's the kicker, Patriots – while Smiley pushes to remove Zarutska's memorial, he's keeping the city's precious 'Pride' crosswalk untouched. Because apparently, in the twisted worldview of today's Democrats, woke virtue signaling matters more than honoring the memory of a murdered refugee.

This is the same crowd that spent years lecturing us to "say her name" when it fit their political narrative. But when it comes to Iryna Zarutska – a legal immigrant who followed the rules and came here the right way – suddenly Democrats have gone silent. Her story doesn't fit their agenda, so they'd rather erase it entirely.

What makes this even more infuriating is the rank hypocrisy. These are the same people who claim to champion women's rights and immigrant protection. Yet when a Ukrainian woman fleeing war becomes the victim of senseless violence, where's the outrage? Where are the candlelight vigils? Where's the wall-to-wall media coverage?

"Let's do something the Democrats always tell us to do, but now they don't want us to do – 'Say her name,'" the original report noted.

The truth is crystal clear: Democrats only care about victims when they can be exploited for political gain. Iryna Zarutska's story doesn't advance their narrative about America being systemically racist or about legal immigration being unnecessary. So they'd rather pretend she never existed.

Under President Trump's second term, we're finally seeing a return to prioritizing ALL victims of crime, not just the ones that fit the left's political playbook. It's time for mayors like Brett Smiley to stop playing identity politics with people's lives and start honoring ALL victims equally.

How long will we let radical Democrats erase the stories that don't fit their agenda?

Why is the city spending resources protecting paint on a crosswalk but won't preserve a memorial for an innocent victim? Makes no sense.

This is absolutely disgusting! A murder victim's memorial gets erased while virtue signaling takes priority? Providence's priorities are completely backwards.

It shows you exactly what the left values - their political agenda over actual human lives.

I drive past that crosswalk daily and it's constantly being repainted. Meanwhile they want to erase someone's memory? My Ukrainian neighbor would be heartbroken to see this.

How much taxpayer money are they wasting on that crosswalk maintenance anyway?

Double standard much? Political messaging gets protected status while actual memorials get destroyed.

Can someone explain the legal justification here? How does the city decide which public art stays and which goes?

There is no legal justification - it's purely political favoritism at work here.

Praying for the victim's family having to watch their loved one be forgotten while political symbols get priority.
