The White House on Sunday promoted the elimination of federal taxes on overtime pay, sharing video of workers describing how the change has affected their paychecks.
"
The post directed readers to "Hear how Americans in different industries across the country are benefitting."
Nurses and Overtime
In the video, a nurse of nearly two decades described why the change matters to her profession, saying nurses "do pick up a lot of overtime."
"This is something that's truly helped the American people," she said. "I support this bill because as nurses, we do pick up a lot of every time. I think that this will put a lot of hard earned money back into American nurses' pockets."
Her account centered on the practical effect of keeping more of what she earns on extra shifts.
'Stretch Every Dollar'
Another speaker credited the Great Big Beautiful Bill with the change, tying it to household budgets.
"With the passage of the Great Big Beautiful Bill, my wife and I have benefited from the elimination of taxes on overtime, allowing us to stretch every dollar in an increasingly expensive world," he said.
The same speaker also pointed to the broader tax relief, saying that "the lowering taxes for our township, for the middle class, will help us in the long run to be able to put new trucks on the street and help save lives in our community."
Overtime, Tips and Social Security
The video opened by naming the three categories at the center of the policy: "No tax on overtime tips and social security."
The White House framed the release as evidence that the commitments made during the campaign have been delivered, using the phrase "Promises made, promises kept."
