The Trump Administration is taking direct aim at fraudsters who steal from American taxpayers, announcing new consequences designed to deter criminals from ripping off the American people.

In a video released by the White House, the administration made clear that stealing from taxpayers will now carry severe penalties. "If you steal from the American people, you will go to prison for a long period of time," the message states. "The more you steal, the longer you'll stay in that prison."

Probation Eliminated for Fraudsters

Under the new policy, probation is no longer on the table. "Probation is no longer an option for the fraudsters," the announcement declares, signaling a shift away from leniency toward guaranteed incarceration.

The crackdown also targets repeat offenders. "If you're a convicted fraudster who gets caught stealing for a second time, your sentence will be doubled," the administration said.

Politicians Held Accountable

The announcement also puts state and local politicians on notice, making clear that those who are aware of fraud and fail to act can be held personally liable.

"The best state or local politician knows about fraud, but there's nothing about it. They can be personally liable," the message states.

The White House framed the action as a protective measure for American taxpayers. "The Trump Administration is PROTECTING American taxpayers," the post accompanying the video reads. "Fraudsters will now face real consequences and will think long and hard before attempting to steal from the American people."

"This will make fraudsters think hard before they keep stealing from the American people," the announcement concludes.
