President Trump has rescinded Biden-era methane regulations that stifled American energy production, fulfilling a key campaign promise to roll back radical rules and unleash domestic energy dominance.

White House Rapid Response spokesperson Taylor Rogers explained the decision in a video posted to the official @RapidResponse47 account, saying the previous administration's approach was a burden on marginal well operators and consumers.

Biden's One-Size-Fits-All Approach Targeted Marginal Wells

"The Biden administration did everything they could to stifle American energy dominance," Rogers said. "The Biden administration tried to take a one-size-fits-all approach to shut down many of these marginal wells. This was stifling production and would have increased costs for consumers."

Marginal wells, which produce smaller volumes of oil and gas, were facing regulatory pressure that threatened their viability. The rollback aims to remove those obstacles and allow production to expand.

Rollback to Save Consumers $45 Billion, Unlock 210 Million Barrels

According to Rogers, the economic impact is substantial: "This will trickle down to the consumer. It's expected to save the consumer $45 billion by unleashing 210 million barrels of oil."

Those figures underscore the administration's argument that excessive regulation directly harmed household budgets by constraining supply and driving up energy costs.

President Delivers on Promise to Reverse Radical Regulations

Rogers tied the action to Trump's agenda: "This is great news. And it's what the President promised to do. Look, he promised to unleash American energy dominance. He promised to roll back these radical regulations that the Biden administration and the Democrats put in place."

She also issued a warning about future attempts to reimpose such rules: "And by the way, that's what they want to continue to do. And the President won't allow it."
