As President Trump's mass deportation operations ramp up across America, a disturbing trend has emerged among certain Christian leaders who are abandoning biblical principles in favor of progressive talking points that undermine the rule of law.

The latest example comes from Minneapolis, where Christian writers and speakers are spreading misinformation about ICE operations while wrapping their opposition in the language of faith. These misguided believers claim they're showing "empathy" by opposing the enforcement of immigration law—but they're actually demonstrating a dangerous moral confusion that puts politics above Scripture.

Here's what these anti-ICE Christians conveniently ignore: The Bible is crystal clear about the role of government in maintaining order and justice. Romans 13 explicitly states that governing authorities are "God's servants" who are meant to "bring punishment on the wrongdoer." When millions of people break our immigration laws, there must be consequences—not because we lack compassion, but because we believe in justice.

Real biblical empathy extends to ALL who have been hurt—including the American families devastated by fentanyl brought across our open borders, the victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants, and the communities overwhelmed by the costs of supporting millions of people who entered our country unlawfully.

"Christians are called to be people of truth. But when we fail to ground our thinking in biblical principles, we can end up telling inadvertent lies," notes The Blaze in their analysis of this troubling trend.

These confused Christians are doing exactly that—telling lies about what true compassion looks like. They're mischaracterizing fellow believers who support legal immigration and border security as somehow lacking in Christian love. This is both false and divisive.

The Trump administration's deportation efforts aren't about hatred—they're about restoring the rule of law that protects everyone, including legal immigrants who followed the proper process. When we reward lawbreaking, we punish those who did things the right way.

Where's the Empathy for Legal Immigrants?

Patriots who support President Trump's immigration enforcement aren't abandoning Christian principles—we're applying them correctly. True biblical justice requires both mercy AND law. We can have compassion for people's difficult circumstances while still maintaining that actions have consequences.

It's time for these misguided Christian leaders to stop letting progressive politics override biblical truth. Are they more concerned with appearing "woke" to secular audiences, or with actually following what Scripture teaches about government, justice, and the rule of law?

I served this country for 20 years and it breaks my heart to see churches undermining law enforcement. We can help people through proper legal channels.

This article nails it perfectly. Biblical empathy doesn't mean ignoring God's design for nations and borders.

Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem for a reason!

There's nothing unloving about wanting secure borders and orderly immigration. God himself established the concept of nations in Acts 17:26.

How do we help our pastor understand this? Our church has been promoting 'sanctuary' policies and I'm concerned we're being led astray from Scripture.

I live in Arizona and see the chaos at our border firsthand. These well-meaning Christians in their safe suburban churches have no idea what we're dealing with down here.

THANK YOU for writing this! The progressive takeover of evangelical churches is real and dangerous.

Finally someone said it! There's a huge difference between biblical compassion and enabling lawlessness. Romans 13 is crystal clear about respecting governing authorities.

Exactly! We can show love while still supporting the rule of law.
